+EMS SAFR Project

SacValley MedShare (“SVMS”) and its partners, Northern California EMS (“Nor-Cal EMS,” 5 counties) and Sierra-Sacramento Valley EMS (“S-SV EMS,” 10 counties) are about to commence work on a regional Plus EMS Project, funded by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority supported by CMS and other funds. The Project represents 22 transport agencies and 17 receiving hospitals, in addition to the two LEMSAs and the HIO. We are pleased that the subcontractor for our EMS Connector (interface engine and persistent database) is San Diego Health Connect (“SDHC” or “Health Connect”), a significantly knowledgeable party in the implementation and management of the SAFR model. All of the transport agency participants use NEMSIS 3.4 connections to their five electronic Patient Care Record (ePCR) systems. All will submit data through the Connector to hospitals and the HIO and all will submit data to the California EMS Information System.
